| We were very lucky with dry sunny cold weather for this first shoot at Thorpe Garden. 106 archers shot a 2 x 20 3 D course, and they are to be applauded for the clean and tidy condition in which they left the course. Thanks go to everyone who helped to plan, lay and marshal the course, Shaun, Steve, Stuart,& Mark Allen, from Clacton Archers and Mark Jones, Trish, Ben, Theresa Peter and Scott from Excaliber Archers. Trish, Jan, Sue and Victoria worked extremely hard keeping everyone fed and supplied with warm drinks in the tea tent all day ably assisted (!) by Conrad and Daniel. On the day we were extremely pleased by the very positive comments and compliments which were made by a number of archers. Although afterwards we were all extremely disappointed by the one person who felt unable to approach us on the day and subsequently complained to the NFAS secretary anonymously. Had this person approached any marshal or person assisting at the shoot we are confident we would have been able to address their concerns and so avoid the unnecessary unpleasantness and anxiety caused to the shoot organisers and the NFAS secretary. On a happier note we are pleased to confirm that the land owner has granted us permission to hold this shoot in 2006 and also permission to use the adjacent woodland. Clacton and Excaliber are planning to hold two shoots in 2006. The Thorpe Garden Shoot and one later in the year in the woodland.
